Aeration

Alleviating soil compaction is one of the best things you can do for your lawn. We recommend aerating and top dressing at least once every year. For problematic yards, two times per year may be needed.

Healthy Soil = Healthy Lawn & Plants

Alabama’s heavy clay soil does not allow nutrients, water, and air to penetrate the root zone. This leads to thin, weak lawns that cannot choke out weeds and are susceptible to drought and disease. Aerating removes plugs of soil and physically corrects the issue of compaction. Aerating is a critical part of achieving a truly healthy lawn.

In addition to aeration, top dressing is a great addition to the health of your yard. This adds organic materials to the soil, further promoting a healthy root system. The perforated holes in the ground from aerating provide the opportunity to introduce organic matter directly into the soil through top dressing. The nutrient rich top dressing physically changes the composition of the soil in your lawn’s root zone. Roots that now have more Oxygen, nutrients, and water available are able to thrive.
